The Village a Space for Healing
The Village: A Space for Healing is a wellness-centered community founded by Lorin Burke, LPC, a licensed mental health therapist, author, and speaker based in Detroit, Michigan. The Village was created to provide culturally responsive spaces where individuals, families, and parents—especially women and BIPOC communities—can pause, breathe, heal, and reconnect with themselves.
Our events blend mental health education, emotional wellness, and real-life conversations. We host workshops, parent cafés, support circles, healing conversations, and community gatherings focused on topics such as motherhood, grief, burnout, emotional regulation, relationships, self-care, and generational healing.
At The Village, healing is not rushed or isolated—it is communal, intentional, and grounded in compassion. Our mission is to break the stigma around mental health by creating accessible, welcoming spaces that support growth, reflection, and emotional wellbeing at every stage of life.
We believe healing happens best when people feel seen, supported, and safe—and that’s what The Village exists to provide.
