Pain Concern
Pain Concern aims to bring people living with with chronic pain, those caring for them, their friends, families and healthcare professionals, into one pain community dedicated to a world where having pain does not stop you having a full life and where you feel understood.
To this end:
- We offer high quality information about pain using a variety of accessible media tools.
- We support patient-centred care and empowerment of patients to self-manage their pain.
- We support the recognition of pain as a condition of its own right in science, policy and practice.
- We support early pain management intervention.
- We believe people living with pain deserve compassion and empathy so that their voices and experiences are fully acknowledged in a genuine partnership with their healthcare professionals.
- We believe all patients should have access to the best evidence-based treatments.
- We will work with other organisations whenever this helps us achieve our objectives.
- We aim to influence policy in ways that will improve the lives of those living with pain.
