Matthew Gasda (BCTR)

Founded in 2023 after a decade of staging plays in living rooms and other non-traditional venues around New York City, the Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research (BCTR) is an independent, semi-underground theatre for plays in rep, emerging artists, new translations, classes and workshops for actors and writers, fiction and poetry readings, movie nights and parties. Located off the beaten path in an industrial corner of Greenpoint, in a loft below a rave venue, BCTR shows have nonetheless been reviewed by The New York Times and have made their way to Manhattan, San Francisco, London and Stockholm.
