Mahjong with Kim

Kim is a Mahjong teacher based in San Francisco, she helps both locals and visitors learn to play Mahjong.

Growing up in Hong Kong in the 70’s, Kim learned to play Mahjong from her mom and she often played with her family during #8 Typhoons when school was canceled!

During Covid, she found herself teaching her family and her friends’ families how to play and discovered a new passion.

Before becoming a Mahjong teacher, Kim worked 30 years in San Francisco’s Union Square as a service manager in luxury retail. After a successful career helping to ensure the best in customer service, Kim decided to combine her personal expertise in Mahjong, and create a fun experience for visitors to San Francisco and locals alike to learn to play this wonderful game.

Kim now teaches Mahjong at Jade Chocolates in SF’s Chinatown and at the Hyde Out, in SF’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood. When not playing Mahjong, Kim enjoys cooking and doing her daily marketing in Chinatown and at the many local Farmers market.
