Chef Lisa Brooks

Lisa has been in the kitchen since she was a little girl. She grew up cooking typical southern foods at the sides of her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.   After 15 years in Corporate America, Lisa was laid off and decided it was time to follow her passion. She sought classic culinary training at CPCC where she earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts as well as a certificate in Business Administration. She started Heart & Soul Personal Chef Service, which she operates full time and is in its 12th year of business. Heart & Soul provides weekly meal preparation for private clients, elegant in-home dinner parties and small event catering services.

Lisa has been featured on Food Network, Tamron Hall Show, and was named by Charlotte Magazine as one of the best personal chefs in the city. She also makes regular cooking appearances on local morning shows. Personal Quote: “In the South, to prepare a meal for someone is to show them love. I prepare real food for real people- the trendy, health-conscious and just plain ol’ country folk.”
