Amazon Conservation Team

The Amazon Conservation Team (ACT), founded in 1996, partners with Indigenous and local communities to protect the Amazon rainforest and strengthen traditional cultures. For nearly 30 years, ACT has led community-driven conservation, safeguarding millions of acres of rainforest while advancing Indigenous land rights, cultural resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. To date, ACT has helped secure 3.1 million acres of Indigenous reserves and more than 7 million acres zoned to protect isolated Indigenous peoples. Headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, ACT maintains field offices in Colombia, Brazil, the Guyanas, and Costa Rica.
