LOCKHAUGH FARM EVENTS
After many years working in the arts and living abroad, Deborah returned to North East England to thoughtfully renovate Lockhaugh Farm as a retreat space — somewhere guests can holiday, and where she curates intimate events in collaboration with experts who share her passion for creativity, wellness and nature.
Lockhaugh Farm is a 19th-century family smallholding set amongst woodland and meadows, with expansive views over the National Trust Gibside Estate. The beautifully restored property offers self-catering and retreat accommodation for 1–12 guests across the Farmhouse, Stable House, Gardener’s Cottage, and two converted Railway Carriages.
Alongside the accommodation, Deborah hosts brunches, day and weekend retreats, and a curated programme of events in collaboration with artists and creative practitioners. Since 2023, Lockhaugh Farm has run an annual Artists in Residence programme supporting visual artists, writers, and musicians. Currently, painter and printmaker Louise Bradley is in residence, leading a series of art workshops.
Events are intentionally limited to small groups (8–10 guests) to ensure a calm, attentive, and genuinely immersive experience. At its heart, Lockhaugh Farm is about creating a peaceful space where you can slow down, rest, reconnect, and reset in nature.
