Newcastle Birth Movement, Nat + Full NBM Team
All the community events, you see featured here, are run as fundraisers for the Newcastle Birth Movement Community Project. Sometimes I am the facilitator, other times our other team members and guest facilitators run an event. (we LOVE to collaborate, so if you have an event idea and a passion/dream, come along and have a cup of ta and a chat!!! You're very welcomed!)
For all events, our goal is to ensure the facilitator is covered for their expertise and valuable time, facilitators can earn a small-modest hourly rate where POSSIBLE. The rest of the money you invest, raises money for the project and it's awesome FREE services to the community! (thanks you for attending an event, you are deeply appreciated!)
I personally contribute about 15 volunteer hours per week as volunteer coordinator (and founder) of the project.
Although most of my work is completely volunteer, unpaid, time (which is my gift to the local women and families), occasionally, when our finances permit, on rare, rare occasion, I earn some small/modest admin income. This mainly applies when I run a very large project within the overall project, eg When we ran the Wise Birth Conference.
I work hard and it is a part of my overall dream, for women and families to enjoy and afford high quality, private and community, professional events.
