Organizer of Transition Black Isle: Zero Waste Food Challenge
The Highland Community Waste Partnershipis led and driven by eight community groups across the Highlands and coordinated byKeep Scotland Beautiful.Transition Black Isleare one of the eight partners and is part of the worldwideTransition movemente see our role as helping Black Isle communities thrive in the face of climate change and disruption to global resources. Our activities include encouraging non-car travel, promoting energy saving measures, running community markets, supporting local food producers as well as helping people to grow more of their own food and to make their own compost. As a partner in the Highland Community Waste Partnership, we are actively working with the community to reduce waste and consumption and increase reuse, repair and recycling. We hold workshops, events and social evenings across the community and support initiatives providing activities to address waste. We also pop-up and support other community events to provide information, advice and support to those living or working on the Black Isle. Together, through making small changes we can make a big impact on climate change.
